Privacy Policy — Muslim Tools

Last updated: 10 July 2026 · Version française ci-dessous

Muslim Tools ("we", "us"), accessible at https://muslimtools.org, is a free set of Islamic tools (prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran reader, Zakat and inheritance calculators, and more). This policy explains exactly what data the app processes, why, and the choices you have. You can use every feature of Muslim Tools without creating an account.

1. Data we process, and why

a) Location

b) Push notification subscriptions

When you enable notifications we store: the push endpoint issued by your browser, its cryptographic keys, your rounded coordinates, and your chosen language. Subscriptions inactive for more than 60 days are deleted automatically. You can unsubscribe at any time from Settings → Notifications, which removes the data from our server.

c) Data stored only on your device (localStorage / offline caches)

Your preferences (language, dark mode, adhan sound), your saved city, cached prayer times, your personal trackers (Quran juz progress, tasbeeh counts, zakat inputs), your cookie-consent choice, and any Quran audio you download for offline listening are stored only in your browser. They never reach our servers and you can erase them by clearing site data in your browser.

d) Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (consent required)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are useful. It is loaded in Consent Mode v2 with every signal denied by default: no analytics cookies are set and no measurement occurs unless you press "Accept" on our cookie banner. You can change your mind anytime via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.

e) Advertising — Google AdSense (consent required)

We may display ads through Google AdSense to keep the app free. Advertising cookies and personalised ads are governed by the same consent banner and are off unless you accept. Google's use of advertising data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

f) Server logs

Like all web servers, ours records standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, requested page, time) for security and debugging. Logs are not linked to any profile and are rotated routinely.

2. Third-party services the app talks to

3. Cookies

Muslim Tools itself works without tracking cookies. The only tracking technologies are those of Google Analytics and Google AdSense described above, and both stay disabled until you consent. Your consent choice is remembered in your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) for convenience.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR and equivalent laws (including Morocco's law 09-08), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and object to processing of your personal data. In practice:

5. Children

Muslim Tools does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires no account and no personal details to function.

6. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and adjust the "Last updated" date above.
